The Trojan soccer team fell to defeat on the artificial grass at Saline High School tonight. The boys entered the game in a positive mood but found it a challenge to adjust to the higher bounce and pace in their first game of the season on the field turf. Saline won each half 3-0, a harsh scoreline given the amount of possession Monroe enjoyed. The Hornets' finishing in front of goal was clinical and they found the net despite keeper Braden Setzler's best efforts. For Monroe J'von Miller, Isaac Langerman and Austin Dun in midfield worked tirelessly to stem the flow of Saline attacks and Talen Swinkey and Noah Stein combined to good effect down the flanks. Monroe continued to push forward until the end and were unlucky not to find the net in the final 10 minutes as they carved out several good chances.
