BELLEVILLE HIGH SCHOOL: 0
Monroe boys' soccer produced one of their best performances of the season to defeat Belleville 3-0 on Monday evening. The scoreline could have been a lot more one sided had the Trojans not squandered so many chances. Another impressive display by the midfielders especially from Talen Swinkey who created numerous chances for the forwards to add to the total.
Brian Palmer and Jovanny Gallegos scored in the first half and Gallegos added a third in the second. Swinkey picked up another 2 assists and Vishwas Joshi was credited with the other. Ethan Merkle had a mostly quiet game in goal but made two great saves in quick succession to preserve the shutout at the end.
Good effort all round.
Trojans now 9-4-1 and play away at Saline on Tuesday to make up for the rained out game from earlier in the season. KO 7pm.
