Monroe Boys' soccer extended their unbeaten streak to 4 games with a narrow 1-0 victory over Ypsilanti Lincoln on Tuesday night. The goal was scored in the first half by Brian Palmer after a perfect through ball from Bryson Lane. The Trojans were forced to reorganize after Lucis Rzepa was unable to start the game and Talen Swinkey left the game in the first half with an ankle injury. Austin Dunn and Trevor Mann stepped up and took over the captains' armbands and led the team to a hard fought victory. The teams will meet again in the first round of districts on Saturday October 14th. Special praise to Vishwas Joshi and Jovanny Gallegos for their exceptional work rate and effort off the ball and to underclassmen Evan Ortiz, Tobin Becker and Cooper Robinson who filled in admirably in the absence of several experienced players.
