Monroe's boys soccer team returned to winning ways with an excellent 3-1 victory over Ann Arbor Huron tonight. After several chances went close in the first half including a powerful 20 yard shot from Caleb Blackwell that hit the cross bar, Xander Middleton finally found the net from a Colin Charnock corner.
In the second half Monroe fought off a rally from Huron before Ethan Owens sealed the win with his first two goals for the Trojans.His first goal was scored barely 30 seconds after coming on as a sub when he pounced on a pass from Noah Stein in the six yard box. Two minutes later he smashed in a low cross from Jvon Miller to make the score 3-0. A late penalty to Huron completed the goals. Mitchell Meier and Manuel Diaz had another outstanding games in the center of the defense.
