The Monroe Trojan Ladies Bowling team took part in the annual Huron Holiday Classic baker tournament. The ladies bowled well and were in 5th/6th position through most of the tournament. Unfortunately a really rough set dropped them all the way down to ninth place, one spot out of the final cut position. In the final set of the day, the ladies showed their heart and bowled by far their best scores of the day to jump three teams and finish the qualifying portion of the tournament back in sixth place. In the first elimination match we faced off the 3rd seed, Woodhaven, a team who has had our number over the years. After bowling a stellar 185, we found ourselves down after the first game 191-185 in the two game, total pin match. The closeness of the match showed as you could see the nervous shots made by both teams and Monroe pulled out a a 166-142 victory to take the match 351-333. In the semi-finals we ran into a hot Huron team and came out on the short end, but still had a day to be proud of.
