Monroe split a doubleheader with Ypsilanti Lincoln on Thursday, winning game 1 6-5 before dropping game 2 by a 12-2 score.
In game 1, the Trojans trailed 4-0 early, but got 3 runs in the third, and trailed only 5-4 entering the bottom of the 7th inning. Ellie Sieler led off the inning with a line drive that was misplayed by the center fielder. Macy Collett tripled into the right center field gap to score Sieler. After Kallie Trouten and Allie Hall were intentionally walked, Alana Aulph drew a walk to force in the winning run. Sieler and Collett each had 2 hits in the game, and Hall was the winning pitcher.
The Trojans were held to just 5 hits in the second game, and lost by a score of 12-2. Kallie Trouten collected 2 hits in the game.
