The Trojans swept a huge SEC Red Doubleheader on Friday at Ann Arbor Pioneer, winning 11-9 and 7-4.  Both games went extra innings.  The 8th inning was the big inning for Monroe in both games.

In game 1, the Trojans scored 4 runs in the 7th inning to take an 8-6 lead.  Pioneer tied the game in the bottom of the 7th, but Monroe scored 3 more times in the 8th and held on for the win.  Allie Hall pitched a complete game, allowing 8 hits and striking out 5, while going 3-5 at the plate with 2 doubles.  Ellie Sieler went 4-5 with a double, triple, and 4 runs scored. Avery Collett had 2 hits and 2 RBI.

In game 2, Monroe tied the game at 3 in the 7th inning and added 4 more runs in the 8th to secure the sweep. Ellie Sieler was 4-4 with a homer and 2 doubles.  Kallie Trouten had 2 hits, including a 2-run single in the 8th.  With the sweep, Monroe's record is 10-7 on the season and 8-1 in SEC play.
