On Sunday, the Monroe varsity softball team swept three games over North Farmington, Pinckney, and L'Anse Creuse North. Samantha Spicer went 10-11 on the day, knocking in 8 runs to lead the Trojan offense. Haley Frank and Ellie Sieler each managed 5 hits, and McKenzie Peters picked up 4 hits in the final game.

In game 1, the Monroe bats couldn't get going, as the Trojans trailed North Farmington 4-0 going into the bottom of the 7th inning.  Samantha Spicer started the inning wth a single, and McKenzie Peters reached on error.  With 2 outs, Libby Kelley doubled in two runs to cut the lead to 4-2.  After Kallie Trouten and Imari Sortor reached on infield singles, Ellie Sieler singled in two to tie the game.  North Farmington intentionally walked Haley Frank to load the bases, and Samantha Spicer singled in Sortor to give Monroe the 5-4 win.  Hailey Schink was the winning pitcher.

In game 2, the Trojans dominated Pinckney from the beginning, winning by a score of 11-0.  Samantha Spicer went 4-4 with a homer and 4 RBI, Haley Frank had 2 triples, and Ellie Sieler and Alexa Amazeen had 2 hits apiece in the game.  Amazeen also took control on the mound, pitching a complete game shutout.

In game 3, Samantha Spicer and McKenzie Peters each went 4-4 to lift Monroe to a 9-7 win over L'Anse Creuse North.  Ellile Sieler and Haley Frank knocked two hits apiece in the game.  Hannah LaVanway was the winning pitcher, and Alexa Amazeen came on in relief to help the Trojans hold on for the win.

With the Sunday sweep, Monroe now stands at 12-4 on the season.  The Trojans host Ann Arbor Skyline in a big SEC Red matchup on Tuesday afternoon.
