On Thursday, Monroe split a pair of high scoring games with Chelsea.  The Bulldogs won the first game 13-6, and the Trojans bounced back for a 15-8 win in game 2.  Monroe started slowly in game 1, allowing 8 Chelsea runs in the first inning on only 3 hits.  The Trojans fought back to within reach at 8-6, only to see Chelsea score 5 runs to end the scoring.  Ellie Sieler and Elliah Reddent picked up 3 hits apiece for Monroe.  In game 2, the Monroe bats came out on fire, as the Trojans scored at least a run in every inning in the game, which was called after 5 innings because of darkness.  Haley Frank had 3 hits and 4 RBI, Ellie Sieler picked up 3 more hits, and Imari Sortor finished with two doubles and a triple in the game to lead the way.  Kayla Peters had 2 hits including her 3rd homer of the year, and Samantha Spicer had 2 hits and drove in 3.  Monroe now stands at 17-8 overall, and 11-3 in SEC games.  The Trojans host Pioneer Monday as they celebrate Senior Day.
