On Saturday, Monroe swept a series of games from Bay City Central, Lakeland, and Birmingham Seaholm to advance to the championship round of the Michigan Stars Tournament in Grand Blanc.  In game 1, the Trojans got a 2-run homer from Haley Frank in the first inning, and Nicole Sieler held a strong Bay City Central lineup to just 3 runs, as Monroe held on for a 4-3 win.  Frank and Abbie Begley had 2 hits apiece in the game.

In game 2, the Monroe bats were red hot, as the Trojans pounded out 21 hits, including 2 homers by Nicole Sieler, one by Abbie Begley, and an inside the park homer by Imari Sortor.  Monroe trailed 11-10 going into the bottom of the 5th inning, when they scored 7 runs to take the lead for good.  Samantha Spicer collected 4 hits in the game, while Andi Martin and Nicole Sieler added 3 hits apiece.  Emma Favreau pitched a complete game to become the winning pitcher.

In the last game of the day, Haley Frank threw a no-hitter and homered, as Monroe defeated Seaholm 16-1. The Trojans scored 10 runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back.  Frank was 4 for 4, and drove in 4 runs, while Abbie Begley had 3 hits and Samantha Spicer drove in 4 as well.  "We played extremely well today", said coach Jim Davis.  "We have been improving, and the team had a positive energy all day long."
