On Saturday, Monroe swept a series of games from Bay City Central, Lakeland, and Birmingham Seaholm to advance to the championship round of the Michigan Stars Tournament in Grand Blanc. In game 1, the Trojans got a 2-run homer from Haley Frank in the first inning, and Nicole Sieler held a strong Bay City Central lineup to just 3 runs, as Monroe held on for a 4-3 win.
