BEDFORD SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL: 2
Monroe earned a huge double-header sweep over Bedford Thursday at Vince Rossi Field.
In game 1, Monroe scored 5 times in the bottom of the 4th to take a 5-1 lead, and held on for the 6-2 victory. Ellie Sieler, Alana Aulph, and Allie Hall had 2 hits apiece in the game.
In game 2, the Trojans put up 3 runs in the bottom of the 4th to take an 8-5 lead, which they never gave up. Macy Collett led the Monroe offense with 3 hits, and Ellie Sieler had 2. Allie Hall was the winning pitcher in both games, pitching complete games in both.
Monroe's record is 21-15 on the season, and 14-5 in SEC play.
