Monroe sends 1 to state

Monroe high wrestling continued its tradition of sending wrestlers to the state tournament with Anthony Payne moving past the regional tournament to the state meet. Anthony a junior who wrestle’s at 119 for Monroe finished the year at 34-17. He had an outstanding year for Monroe, he placed 4th at districts and regionals. Anthony had a very tough draw to open the state tournament, both of his matches against kids who placed top 6 in the state; with one being a defending state champ. Monroe wrestling is looking forward to having Anthony return as a senior even more hungry to compete and make the podium next year. A big congratulations to ANTHONY PAYNE Monroe’s state qualifier.
