On Monday, the Trojan Varsity Softball team swept Ann Arbor Pioneer in a league doubleheader by scores of 5-1 and 12-0. In game 1, Avery Collett was the winning pitcher, allowing just 5 hits over the game. Alana Aulph had 2 hits, including a homer to deep left field, Maci Willey added 2 hits, and Avery Leach homered to give the Trojans their final 5-1 lead. In game 2, Allie Hall pitched a 4-hit shutout and also went 3 for 4 with a single and two long home runs. Brynn Reece and Ally Lewis had 3 hits apiece, and Avery Leach and Alana Aulph added 2 hits each in the game. With the sweep, Monroe improves to 8-9 overall and 6-6 in SEC play. The Trojans host Adrian on Wednesday for a "Senior Day" doubleheader, starting at 4pm.
