CHELSEA HIGH SCHOOL: 11
On Wednesday, the Trojan varsity softball team headed to Chelsea for a single game with the Bulldogs. Chelsea dominated early, taking a 10-0 lead in the 2nd inning. From that point, Monroe played solid softball, but lost the game 11-1. Alana Aulph hit a triple to left center in the first inning that would have easily cleared any normal sized fence. Monroe's only run came in the 4th when Karlee Smithers tripled and Allie Hall singled her in.
With the loss, Monroe's record is 6-9 on the season, and 4-6 in SEC play.
