Monroe boys track placed 5th overall at the Regional meet Friday. Placing for the Trojans were Jordan Bassler (7th in discus, 6th in shot put), Noah Stein (6th in 400), Tayshaun Nichols (4th in high jump), Brayden Richard (3rd in shot put, 2nd in discus), Teegan Simmons (4th in shot put, 1st in discus), Andrew McCarthy (2nd in 400), the 4x800 relay ( Dan Rhoades, Nick Parran, Kyle Hoffner, Alex Apetroaei - 5th), and the 4x400 relay (Stein, Apetroaei, McCarthy, Karon Rollins - 2nd). Qualifying for the state finals were Simmons and Richard (discus), McCarthy (400), and the 4x400 relay.
