The Monroe boys track team won the Grizzly Invitational Saturday at Ypsilanti. First place finishes came from Andrew McCarthy (high jump), Teegan Simmons (discus), Jordan Bassler (shot put), and Maxx Adams (3200). Finishing second for Monroe were Tayshaun Nichols (high jump), Brayden Richard (discus), Simmons (shot put), McCarthy (400, 200), Myles Bray (3200), the 4x100 relay (Nichols, Simmons, McCarthy, Noah Stein), the 4x400 relay (Karon Rollins, Jayson Six, Chris Stein, Alex Apetroaei), and the 4x800 relay (Grey Johnson, Bray, Stein, Adams). Third place finishes came from Stein (200, 400, long jump), Johnson (3200), and Bassler (discus). Also scoring for Monroe were Rollins (200, 400), Ethan Ellis (shot put), Apetroaei (800), Stein (800), Adams (1600), Johnson (1600), and the 4x200 relay (Matthew Stewart, Vish Joshi, Jayson Six, Rollins).
