Monroe ran its record to 4-1 with a 37-6 win on Trojan Pride Night. Anthony Harris got the Trojans going early by recovering a fumble. Two plays later Jalen Johnson ran 13 yards and a 2 point conversion to put the Trojans up 8-0. After a Cole Sulfaro interception the next series, Hayes Brooks punched it in the endzone followed by a Jared Banks 2 point conversion. A 48 yard Johnson run put Monroe up 22-0 going into the half. The Trojans continued to play great defense in the third quater and Banks (8 yards) and Johnson (45 yards) scored to make the score 37-0 and start the running clock. Maleik Linton had a 2 point conversion and Carson Goodnough kicked a PAT. Defensively the Trojans were led by Linton,Harris, Sulfaro, Brooks,Elijah Blade (fumble recovery), Jace Clark, D'ron Huggins, Cross Jacobs and Cody Scsvanicki. Monroe will be back in action next week against their rivals Bedford.
