Monroe lost a close battle to Jackson High 27-20 Friday night. The Trojans tied the game at 20 with 4 minutes left but couldn't hang on. Jalen Johnson opened the scoring with a 31 yard run on the Trojans first drive. After a D'ron Huggins fumble recovery, Wyatt head hit Cole Sulfaro for a 45 yard TD pass. Jackson cut into the 13-0 lead making it 13-7 at the half. Jackson would go on to take the lead 20-13 with 8 minutes left but Monroe answered with a 57 yard Maleik Linton to Hayes Brooks TD pass. Carson Goodnough tied it at 20. However, Jackson found the endzone again and the Trojans ran out of time. Sulfaro, Brooks, Anthony Harris (1 int), Huggins, Johnson and Jace Clark led the defense.
