Monroe ran its record to 2-0 with a 19-16 win over a very good Elkhart Central football team. Monroe's defense was stout all night and finished the night with a goal line stand to preserve the win as Jace Clark and Cole Sulfaro broke up a 4th down pass.  Hayes Brooks and Anthony Harris led the way in tackles with  Clark, Sulfaro, Jalen Johnson, Cody Scsvanicki and D'ron Huggins also playing very well.  Monroe's special teams were "special" for the second week in a row with Johnson having 3 nice returns and Wyatt Head doing a great job in the punting game. Carson Goodnough made his only extra point attempt. Offensively the Trojans were led by Jared Banks who had 2 first half TDs and Maleik Linton who had a 2nd half TD. They were running behind the 6 big boys up front in Noah Beudrie, Joe Schnorberger, Ian Senio, Paul Brown, Armando Flores and Lucas Ellis. Monroe returns home this week vs. Jackson high (2-0).
