AIRPORT HIGH SCHOOL: 18
Monroe football started the season with a win Thursday at Airport winning 36-18. After trailing 6-0, Maleik Linton got the Trojans on the board with a rushing TD and Cole Sulfaro ran in the 2 point conversion making it 8-6. It was all Monroe after that with Jared Banks scoring a rushing TD, Hayes Brooks catching a 60 yard bomb from Linton and Cody Scsvanicki catching a last second 35 yard score making the score 29-12 at half. Linton punched in the final score on the ground. Jalen Johnson, Linton, Sulfaro, and Scsvanicki played great in the defensive backfield while Brooks, AJ Harris, D'ron Huggins, Paul Brown and Joe Schnorberger led the way up front defensively. Carson Goodnough was 3-3 on Extra Points. The Trojans return to action next Friday vs. Elkhart Central for their first home game!!!!
