Monroe Boys varsity soccer bounced back from their disappointing result on Tuesday with an emphatic 4-1 win at Ypsilanti Lincoln on Thursday night, The Trojans put on a fantastic display of attacking soccer scoring 4 times hitting the woodwork twice, (unlucky Lucis Rzepa both times) and having a goal disallowed. Lincoln's keeper also stopped a penalty in the first half.

The goals were scored by Brian Palmer returning from along injury layoff with a marvelous individual goal. Palmer receiving the ball on the half way line and weaving past several defenders before scoring an unassisted goal. Palmer added the fourth goal in the second half from another tidy assist from Talen Swinkey (11th of the season).

 Evan Ortiz popped up at the far post to score the second goal from an inch perfect  cross by Swinkey before half time.

After Lincoln pegged one back Austin Dunn smashed in a 20 yarder to secure the game before Palmer finished off the scoring at the end.

Another dominating performance in midfield by the trio of Swinkey, Dunn and Gallegos and the intelligent play of Bryson Lane at full back regained possession numerous times and initiated many attacks down the left hand side.

An exciting game and great warm up for the biggest game of the season with  the first visit to Monroe of 16 time state champs Detroit Country Day on Friday night at 7:00pm. GO TROJANS!!

Monroe now 8-3-1 on the season.
