The Monroe Boys' soccer teams undefeated start to the season was ended at Ann Arbor Huron last night. Despite a lopsided 6-1 scoreline the boys did compete extremely well and created good chances especially in the first half. The Trojans fell behind 2-0 early on but then pressed forward and both Lucis Rzepa and Jovanny Gallegos went close with headers from corners. Yuma Watanabe and Evan Ortiz had close range shots saved by the keeper and Talen Swinkey fired just over the bar. Unfortunately right before half time Huron broke away and added a third goal. Another fast counterattacking goal at the star of the second half effectively ended the contest. Monroe continued to fight hard and Luis Diaz won a free kick and Talen Swinkey once again curled the ball beyond the clutches of the keeper for his 4th set piece goal of the season. As the game wound down Huron added 2 more goals to stretch their lead. A disappointing night but a solid effort against a very talented and deep AA Huron squad. Good performances again  from Austin Dunn and Lucis Rzepa and some valuable experience of playing at this level for underclassmen Colin Gray, Luis Diaz and Tobin Becker was gained.
