Monroe's boys 2019 soccer season came to an end at the hands of a powerful Dearborn team in the district semi final on Tuesday night..
Monroe appeared to start the game a little nervously and conceded two early goals. The team settled down after that and began to apply pressure from a series of long throw ins and free kicks. Mid way through the half J’von Miller was fouled in the box and he then stepped up to convert the penalty and make it 2-1. Unfortunately just as Monroe appeared to be getting a foothold in the game Dearborn struck twice in quick succession to stretch their lead before half time.
Monroe battled hard throughout the second half and made the Dearborn team work hard for their victory. Strong performances from Malik, Amato, Houck and Jimenez .The team made great progress this year and finished the season 11-9-4
