JEFFERSON MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL: 1
Monroe’s boys soccer team returned to winning form with a resounding 9-1 victory over local rivals Jefferson on Saturday Sept 21. The game was played on a warm day at Custer Stadium and Monroe played confidently from the start. Despite spirited resistance from the visitors in the first half Monroe were too strong as the game progressed.Monroe had goals from Xander Middleton (2 ) Logan Amato (2) Trevor Malik,Caleb Blackwell(pen) and Norberto Flores. Goalkeeper Braden Setzler played on the field for the first time this season and also chipped in with 2 excellent goals. Senior Goalkeeper Tyler Poore, continuing his return to full fitness, played well between the posts. Good performances also from Blake Lambert, Nick Johnson and Nick Walters. Monroe’s record is 9-5-2
