Monroe welcomed Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard in for the Home opener on Tuesday night. The Trojans came out with a more controlled attack slowing the pace down and being more patient on offense. The Trojans ran out to an 11-6 lead behind three 3 pointers from Xander Middleton to open the game. Monroe played great defense for most of the night. The slower pace on offense allowed the Trojans to take care of the ball and only turn the ball over 13 times for the game. But in the end poor shooting did in the Trojans. Xander Middleton lead the scoring with 16 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Marcos Williams played his best game of the year adding 6 points and grabbing 5 rebounds.
