The Monroe boys came into todays meet knowing it was a must win against division leading 9-2 Saline Hornets. Monroe at 5-3 controls its own destiany facing the rest of the SEC red needing to sweep the back half of the season to secure it 6ths straigh sec red title. With a win today, the trojans would sweep the season series and give Monroe the tie breaker. The action started off with Monroe Spliting the bakers, 168 to 138 win and a loss 166 to 211. Going into game one down 4 to 6. Monroe proceed to shoot its second high game of the season with a 1020. The scoring was plentiful with a 215 by John Zureki, a 234 by Richard Kmiec, and Jordan Killingback with a 207. Game tow was more of a struggle but only needing 4 points to win the meet, Richard Kmiec carried the team with his 216. Even though Monroe last the game, they took series giving them a 16 to 14 win. This moves them into a 3 way time for first in the sec with the 7-3 Bedford Mules. Beford has the advantage going into play today with a 4-1 Division record, Monroe moves to 3-2, and Saline falls to 4-3 in the division. If monroe wins out, they will share the title with Bedford, if Bedford wins out unitl our end of season match.
