Monroe Boys varsity soccer team recorded their first win in 7 years over traditional rivals Bedford in an SEC match up.The Trojans took an early lead when Jvon Miller chipped the ball to the far post  and Xander Middleton powered  in a header. The lead was doubled when Mitchell Meier took a quick throw in that surprised the Bedford defense and Berto Flores raced in to score. Caleb Blackwell added another just before half time.

In the second half Monroe continued to press forward and added two more goals from Middleton and Flores. With 10 minutes to go Setzler who had enjoyed a quiet night between the sticks was replaced  by Blackwell who made a couple of fine saves.Setzler made the most of his opportunity on the field and from a corner by  Charnock he scored with a perfectly timed header that flew into the top corner.  Very good all-round display by the whole team.
