The Monroe varsity softball team swept an important SEC red double header from Ann Arbor Skyline on Monday.
In game 1, the Trojans took control early, jumping out to a 6-0 lead in the 2nd inning and rolling to a 10-0 win. Allie Hall allowed just 2 hits over the game and struck out 5 Eagles batters. At the plate, Macy Collett and Kallie Trouten had 3 hits apiece and Avery Collett added a 2-run triple.
Alana Aulph was the winning pitcher in game 2, scattering 7 hits in her 6 innings of work. Kallie Trouten had 3 more hits and drove in 5 runs, and Allie Hall added 3 hits and 2 RBI. Ellie Sieler was 4-5 with a double and a triple, and Natalie Kelley added 2 hits.
With the wins, Monroe's record stands at 15-10, and 10-1 in SEC play.
