FLAT ROCK COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL: 7
The Monroe HS varsity softball team split a pair of games with Flat Rock on Thursday, winning game 1 11-7 before dropping the second game 15-7.
In game 1, the Monroe bats were on fire, as the Trojans scored 11 runs on 19 hits. Ellie Sieler led the way, going 5 for 5 and scoring 4 runs. Macy Collett had 4 hits, and Allie hall had 4 hits and 5 RBI. Natalie Kelley hit a homer over the right-centerfield fence for her first career home run. Allie Hall held the Flat Rock offense in check, picking up the pitching win.
In game 2, the Monroe bats cooled off a little and could not keep up with Flat Rock's offense. Kallie Trouten had 3 hits and 3 RBI, while Kelley hit another home run, and Sieler also took one deep.
