Monroe Boys Varsity soccer team recorded a 6-0 win over county rivals Bedford in the first round of district play tonight.

Two goals from Xander Middleton and a goal each by J'von Miller and Norberto Flores in the first half secured the game for Monroe. In the second half Middleton completed his hat trick before Lucis Rzepa wrapped up the scoring with a goal on his debut for the varsity team. As if to underline the all round team effort which contributed to the victory, each of the six goals were assisted by a different Trojan player.(Caleb Blackwell, Mitchell Meier, Norberto Flores, Braden Setzler, Colin Charnock, J'von Miller).

Braden Setzler and Nik Heringhausen shared the shutout. A memorable night for all particularly Avery Knauer who received the arm band from Jvon Miller (receiving treatment for an ankle injury) and captained the Trojan team for the last 20 minutes. Well deserved Avery!

Monroe now move on to play at Edsel Ford on Tuesday October 20th at 4:00pm.
