After their first 7 games were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic Monroe's boys soccer team belatedly began their season with a convincing 6-0 win against Taylor High School. The Trojans took most of the first half to find their rhythm but two goals just before half time settled the boys down.The  sharpness in front of goal improved in the second half as four more goals were added. 
Caleb Blackwell notched a hat trick and Norberto Flores, Avery Knauer and Colin Charnock completed the goals. Assists were provided by Vincent Bonanni, Dean Carter, Xander Middleton, Flores and Charnock. Strong performances in midfield from Jvon Miller and Isaac Langerman and Austin Dunn, Manuel Diaz and Daniel Presa impressed on their varsity debuts. A promising  start for the team and good preparation for a sterner test when Riverview and Allen Park come to Custer Stadium on Saturday.
