Monroe High School Girls Swimming and Diving Information Fall 2021
Hello! The school year is quickly coming to an end, and before it does, I wanted to send information to any girls interested in swimming and diving during the fall 2021 swim season. The most important information is that we will begin our season on Monday, August 16at the Monroe High School’s pool.
Varsity swimming and diving at MHS is a no-cut sport. With that said, there are some minimum expectations. For an athlete to start with our swimming team, she needs to be able to swim one length of the pool freestyle in under 30 seconds and be comfortable swimming in deep water. Any athletes who would like to try diving should be comfortable swimming in deep water as well. We enjoy getting athletes that are new to the sport in our program, and we plan to spend a significant part of the season teaching new swimmers and divers how to do everything they need to compete. The most important quality for a new athlete in our program is a willingness to learn and a strong work ethic.
Before our season starts, all athletes must have a completed physical. These forms are in the athletic office in A Wing at MHS or in Office 11 at MMS. Physicals must be dated on or after April 15, 2021, to be current. No athlete will be allowed to begin with our team until this form is either turned into the athletic office or handed to Coach Schade.

We are looking forward to an exciting fall season that includes the following meets: The Bellville Tiger Invite; The Monroe County Championship Meet; The MISCA Meet; The SEC Red Championship Meet; and the Division 1 State Meet. These meets will provide us with great competition and lots of opportunities to swim fast and dive well!
Thanks very much for reading this letter; please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any other questions about the fall 2021 Season.
